it's got not one... not two... but three annoying as fuck human characters that should have died in the first episode.

i can remember being a kid.. i never wanted to be the kids.. i didn't want them as toys.. and didn't care what happened to them... i cared when Prime died in the original movie... couldn't give a shit when spike and his spawn were in trouble.

am i the only one that doesn't like the ending to titanic... not that the ship sinks or Leo dies (though that was pretty fucked up) but the part where she tosses the necklace into the ocean.... come on lady, you could have given the thing the Paxton...

and another thing.. when she dies she goes to heaven (just go with it) and is with Jack... oh that's romantic and all but come on... what about her husband that she spent her life with.. what about him.. oh you spent almost a whole week with Jack and fucked him once... but lived for years with this guy, had kids, raised a family, and lived out your life only to brush him aside when you die... fuck you bitch.

Dead Island

this is the first thing that has popped into my mind to post here so here goes.

Dead Island.

Now as some of you may know of me, possibly a very few, i likes me some zombie games. especially a first person shooter type. In my view if you want to put your face in the action and really get a feel of terror it is done in a first person type of setting.

Games like Half life 2 (which i consider a zombie game that would make an excellent template for a lone survivor type game... ill elaborate on that at a later date), Left 4 dead, and any number FPS zombie games out there are a good choice just to name a few.

So imagine my glee when i hear they are making an FPS zombie game on a tropic island... okay, not the first choice i would pic but okay... and its mostly based on melee fighting... again, not my first choice but okay. Then we hear that you can upgrade weapons similar to Dead Rising 2 (another game i recommend)... well that pretty much sold me there cause i love that sorta thing.

Now the game is not without flaws. Possibly being one of the biggest being the combat is hit or miss... in that you either hit or miss the target. There are times when you can easily kill a zombie with a one shot slash to the neck or skull crushing blow and others where you know you hit them but they still evaded you. This gets to be really annoying really fast, especially when you have a group of infected (think 28 days later "zombies") who will beat the living shit out of you before you have a chance to fight back. The kick feature is a pretty good tool but i think in the end the game relies to much on it as you can upgrade it to where you can just kick the hell out of someone and then stomp on their heads for an insta kill. Though it is funny to be playing with others and gather around a single zombie and just start kicking the shit out of it as i have the chance to say "lay the boots to him... medium style." another flaw with the combat is the guns, which are far and few in between and don't even show up till later in the game. I have found while playing that bullets are really more effective on the human Mobs rather than the dead, since i did unload an entire clip into one's head and it didn't go down, but one head shot to a human took it down instantly. I'm from the school of Romero on zombies.., one shot to the head and its dead, this would work great if they guns worked like this due to their rarity.

One odd thing i do like about the combat is the Stamina bar, some may find this a hindrance but i think of it as a way of making it more realistic and challenging... but then you have the kick feature as mention earlier. another plus is you actually have health in this game, and not a replenishing health/shield to rely on, even though dying will only cost you a bit of cash and keep you close to where you are.

one of the better things about the game is the setting... the background and graphics are beautiful. It really looks like a tropical island as I have seen. though I must admit waiting for the textures to load was a bit of a bother to me. Also there is something outputting about the human models... i think its they eyes... they got dead lifeless eyes... like a doll's eyes.

Oh and if you do try this game out be prepared to meet some glaring bugs. there have been many a time playing with friends that something bugged up and made the screen go out and all as heard was what was apparently my anal rape at the hands of an unseen enemy that i could not move away from or fight back against... this would then kill me and re spawn me only to be ear raped by the sounds again and killed. it got so bad that not only i but everyone else in my party had to restart their xbox to make it quit... this needs a patch badly.

while this game has its flaws (and yes they are a plenty) it still didn't take away from me really enjoying it. Especially while playing with friends. If this sounds like something you might want to check out then you should pick it up... my version being the Xbox version as i no longer trust PS3.
